3. 성경을 꿰뚫어 보게 하는 안경(관점 2)
관점 2 : 셋 계열은 가인 계열과 섞이면 안 된다. 정복해야 한다.
성경은 힘 있는 자의 역사라인 가인계열 말고, 아브라함을 조준하며 흘러가는 스토리의 출발 지점이자 다른 쪽 계열인 셋 계열을 주인공으로 삼고 있습니다. 아담, 아벨, 셋을 잇는 족보 공동체가 품고 있는 비밀 때문입니다. 하나님에게서 끊어지게 된 선악과 사건 이후 ‘다시 하나님과의 교제를 할 수 있는 길을 제시 하셨다’는 비밀을 알고 있는 구원 공동체!, 이 좋은 소식을 알고 있는 복음 공동체! 성경은 복음을 이미 인류 초기에, 셋 공동체 안에 심장처럼 장착 시켜 놓았습니다.
제물을 가지고 하나님께 나아가기만 하면, 다시 하나님을 닮은 사람이 될 수 있다는 창조의 방향성을 아는 무리들, 이 셋 계열이야말로 아담을 이어가는 진정한 주류 역사라고 주장합니다.
공식적인 성경 역사의 족보는 ‘아담이 셋을 낳았다’입니다. 아담 이후 성경의 관심사는 셋 공동체입니다. 이 셋의 역사가 족보를 타고 흐르다가 노아에게서 멈추어 섭니다. 셋의 족보는 노아가 목표였습니다. 왜일까요? 성경의 관심 주제는 노아 홍수입니다, 그렇다면 홍수를 통해 성경이 하고자 하는 말은 ‘셋 계열은 가인 계열과 섞이면 안 된다. 정복해야 한다!’입니다. 이것이 관점 2입니다.
거룩한 계열 사람들의 존재 이유는 이미 가진 복으로 가인 계열을 정복하는 사명을 감당해야 합니다. 셋 계열은 진리 보존의 책임과 전해야 할 의무가 있는 무리들이었습니다. 그러므로 셋 계열 사람들의 구원 사역은 교회론과 반드시 연결되어 있습니다.
셋 공동체는 예배 비밀을 알고 있는 게 특징입니다. 이들은 이 비밀을 가인 계열 사람들에게 전하는 사명으로 살았어야 했습니다. 복으로 가인 계열도 정복하고 다스려야 했습니다. 이것이 관점 2로서 성경을 끝까지 읽을 수 있도록 도와주는 두 번째 렌즈입니다.
결국 어떻게 「창세기」 12장1~3절에 약속하신 ‘모든 민족의 복이 되는 나라’가 될지 그 종국을 보려고 성경을 계속 읽게 되는 겁니다. 모든 민족을 구원하고 싶으신 하나님의 열망이 성경입니다.

3. Bible-Piercing Glasses (Perspective 2)
Perspective 2: The Seth Line Must Conquer and Not Become Mixed With the Cain Line.
The first genealogy contained in Scripture is that of the Seth line, which begins with Seth who God provided to carry on the line of Adam and Abel (Genesis 5). Even after Adam sinned against God, God did not abandon Adam and Eve and their descendants. Instead, God provided a means by which their fellowship with God could be restored - that is, salvation or the Good News/Gospel. Those people who recognised God’s kingship would go before Him with a sacrifice and ask for His forgiveness, placing themselves under God’s rule and becoming more like their creator God. The Seth line was entrusted with the knowledge of this Good News/Gospel, even in the early human history. Scripture therefore focuses on the history of the Seth line as the true main-stream history rather than the Cain line, the line of the strong.
The first genealogy in Scripture states that Adam begot Seth (1 Chronicles 1:1, Luke 3:38). After Adam, the focus of Scripture is directed to the Seth line. The flow of the Seth line leading back to Adam continues for a while and suddenly stops at Noah. Why did the genealogy of the Seth line flow in the direction of Noah? It’s because Scripture wants to tell the story of the Flood. What message is Scripture trying to convey through the story of the Flood? That the Seth line must conquer and not become mixed with the Cain line. This is Perspective 2.
The mission of God’s people, the Seth line is to infiltrate the worldly culture, thus transforming the world to God’s Kingdom. The Seth line was a group of people tasked with the safe-keeping of the truth about worship as the means for being restored to God. Therefore the ministry of the Seth line is essentially connected with the doctrine of Church.
God’s people are called not to mix, but rather to proclaim the Word of God and transform the world’s culture. A key characteristic of the Seth line is that they knew the truth about worship as the means of restoration to God. This group of God’s people should have lived to fulfill their mission by sharing and spreading this amazing truth amongst the people of the Cain line.
Let’s read Scripture to discover how God’s nation will eventually become a blessing to all nations of the world as God promised to Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3. Scripture is indeed the written account of God’s passion to save all peoples
